How we started it
In 2012 I and my wife were looking for a weekend business to fulfill our crazy working habit and tried to make some extra money beside our regular jobs. At the beginning we had tone of ideas but Kettle corn wasn’t the first thing that came to our minds, but eventually we picked it simply because it was one of our favorite snack in the whole list. Three months later we’ve decided to purchase all the equipments, popcorn bags, a big hand pop kettle and some propane gas that we needed. few weeks of practice later, we started to popping our first batch of kettle corn in one of the biggest street fair in New York City and that was how it started in the very beginning. In 2014 we open our first popcorn shop in Flushing New York, 2015 we opened two more popcorn carts in our neighborhood shopping mall.
Keep it in tradition method : Mushroom Kernel + Hand Pop technique
Every single popcorn kernel is hand popped in small batches by our popcorn chef. We want to keep the hand pop tradition, because it is simple way to coat the mushroom popcorn kernel with a tin layer of sugar coating.
Making a batch of kettle corn isn’t easy at all, our chef has to stand next to a 450 degree red hot big kettle during the entire popping process and he has to constantly stir the popcorn kernels inside the big kettle to make sure that the sugar and kernels won’t get burn in a split of seconds.
